After upgrading, I get an error saying that my plug-ins could not authorise.

The most common cause of this error is that you have installed the latest version of Oxford plug-in software but you do not have the latest version of plug-in licence on your iLok to authorise it.

When this happens, your DAW will ask you for a licence card or challenge/response authorisation.  This indicates that no valid licence can be found on your iLok and your plug-in will stop working.

The following applies where you HAVE upgraded your Oxford plug-in licence to the latest version, ending with "G4", eg. PTHREQG4,  NATDYNG4 etc.

First, please check to ensure that you have the licence in your iLok.  When you have completed the upgrade registration, you must remember to log on to your iLok account.  You must have inserted the iLok which contains the old licence.  Then click on 'download licences'  and synchronise your iLok.  You should see the upgraded Sonnox licence available for download.  Please tick the box, select the source iLok and click the download button.  This will surrender the old licence in favour of the upgraded one.

Sometimes, new software may not overwrite the older versions correctly.  Please remove the plug-in files from the application plug-ins folder and then re-install the latest versions again.

If your Oxford plug-in will still not authorise, you may need to re-scan your plug-ins.

Logic users can launch the AU Manager (found under Logic Preferences).  If the Sonnox plug-in is not ticked, simply highlight the plug-in and perform a re-scan and re-launch Logic.

VST applications, eg. Cubase or Nuendo, may also require a plug-in re-scan.  Launch the application, and look at plug-in information, under Devices and Plug-In Information.  Ensure that your VST plug-in path is correctly specified, and the Oxford plug-in is ticked.   Press the Update button to re-scan your plug-ins.
