Sony Oxford are delighted to announce the expansion of the Plug-Ins for PowerCore range to include the Transient Modulator. This incredible tool operates on the transient portions of waveforms, allowing them to be dramatically accentuated or softened.

It is very signal content dependent and, unlike compressors, limiters and gates, where the thresholds are fixed, it operates dynamically according to the level of change of the input signal, which makes it extremely easy to set up.

It can increase the dynamic attack of a 'soggy' drum kit and percussion, or conversely, it can bring up the ambience surrounding a specific sound whilst simultaneously bringing down transient attack. It gives life to dull sounding recordings, without the unwanted changes in overall timbre associated with multi-band compression techniques.
