Sony Oxford has extended its range of premier plug-ins to Apple’s Audio Units platform.
Previously only available to Pro Tools and Powercore users, the Oxford plug-ins, world renowned for their precision and high-end sound, are now available for Apple applications such as Logic Pro, Digital Performer, Garage Band, Bias Peak and even video applications like Final Cut Pro.
“We are really excited about expanding our plug-in range to Apple’s platform,” says Sony Oxford vice president of Sales & Marketing, Nathan Eames. “It is clear that there is a vast number of Logic and DP users who demand professional sounding plug-ins for their mixes. Now we are able to offer the Oxford plug-ins on this platform to help users achieve the highest quality mixes.”
“The power and performance of our Intel-based Macs combined with Mac OS X Audio Units offers the most compelling platform for music creation ever,” said Ron Okamoto, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “We’re pleased to see Sony Oxford supporting Universal versions of Audio Units, joining thousands of developers taking advantage of our easy to use developer tools."
The initial Audio Units compatible Oxford plug-ins are: EQ, Dynamics and Limiter.
The Inflator, Transient Modulator and Reverb plug-ins will become available in the very near future.
Purchasers of Sony Oxford’s Native plug-ins will receive one licence which will be compatible with Pro Tools LE, Pro Tools
M-Powered and Audio Units applications (such as Logic and Digital Performer).
Pricing of Sony’s Native plug-ins starts from as little as $207 (£115) with very attractive discounts of up to 40% for purchasers of bundles.
Latest versions of the Oxford EQ, Dynamics and Limiter include a Native licence which allow the use of AU versions.
